i keep seeing people with 18" nightshades, does sundown custom make these or is it the person getting the basket and making them? i wouldn't mind having a pair of 18" shades either

Yep, the new ones are ready for sale as of last week.

Long coils are standard now as is enhanced cooling. We are also building them in-house with our ultra-high strength epoxy adhesives on the triple joint and spider landing as well as the other various adhesives we have been testing for high SPL drivers.

Same way I assembled the "Monster" prototype is how we do all Nightshades now.

well i finally made up my mind, im for sure doing the nightshades, but what do the 18's like space wise, i also made up my mind i don't want to do a wall but have no problem with a big box

i can do roughly 10 cubes so after displacement only have like 4.5 or a bit more each.... dunno if the 18's can breathe in that and that leaves like 5" to rear hatch maybe 6"

dunno iv always ran 15's due to space think 18's are too much?

I'd do three 15's ported

not for nightshades, the 18 will work wonders in 5 cubes, and that was per jacob when i got my 18 custom built

when i got mine, i bought a blown motor, bought an 18" basket, sent it to jacob and he reconed it for me with the longer coil, cooling, and hard spider pack. and it cost me less then what it would have to buy a stock 15" nightshade

Indeed... many Team guys use 4 cubes with excellent results. They like smaller enclosures like the other sizes.

About 1.5 cubes for 12s, 3 cubes for 15s, and 4-5 cubes for 18s.
