new mtx sledgehammers

you said sledgehammer 10s actin like there subs. ALL WE WANT TO KNOW IS WHAT SERIES THE SUBS ARE. like nsgm is saying the sledgehammer is just a preloaded enclosure. Yet you continue to say sledgehammer 10's etc.

please ive run through more systems than your mother has run through men. your knowledge is nowhere near mines. your sitting up here denying that there is no such thing as a 9500 series mtx sledgehammer. you need to update some car audio knowledge into ur head nub lol.
is that a compliment? from ur knowledge, it seems like his mother is pretty devoted to nothing at all. u actually don't know wtf ur saying either, as u say 10'' sledge hammer, but all that it is is a box. i wasn't aware that boxes "slammed".

Yup, i am unfortunately reading this thread, just because the guy is a f*cking idiot and doesn't realize that the "sledgehammer" is a box with one of the MTX subs in it, and not the sub itself.

Then has the nerve to be a badass about it, when he obvioulsy has no idea what he's talking about.

Good times.

I've heard spinner sub guards add 100dbs, I will be putting one on my new sub to increase DBs.

first id like to say wow those W7's hit hard and get low-i felt my heart tremble in my chest. they had 4 car replica's set up across the expo luckily jl and mtx wasnt'nt too far apart to compare the two. on the mtx 9500's- you ever been in a gun fight? these subs sound like a machine going off!! we put in a pantera cd(vulgar display of power-R.I.P. DIMEBAG) in the hu and those subs just about knocked me through the plexyglass window. the subs didnt skip a beat clean and extremly punchy and loud! i wasnt too empressed with mtx's amps you can hear alot of noise coming out of those amps-and when we really cranked it clipped once but the mtx sales guy fixed the loose rca.
in the jl car wasnt impressed at all with their new zr components but those werent for me im sure somebody likes them-hell i like infinity reference components. anyways was very impresssed with the W7's spl abilities-the subs have very good linear excursion and stay cool. as far as sq is concerned it depends on what your listening to while playing master p the mega low notes were warm and clean but while listening to metalica the bass was "flutterd" and mashed together. the jl salesman played with the tuning but it only improved allitle. i would definently commit to buying jl amps- very iffecient in full power at 12.5 volts compared to mtx's 14.4 rating. overal summary mtx 9500 are designed for all types of music and are a true sqspl sub- jl W7's are 100 percent "clean" spl-not good for rock or blues. sales man commented on this and said jl built the sub around "hip-hop" and "house"-drum and bass and that the W7 was not inteded for sq.
