Today I installed a Pioneer DEH-1320mp to replace a cheap head unit thats 4x40 watts. I'm running a 10" active subwoofer on the pre-out, and the head unit is powering two kicker 3.5" 2 way drivers on the dash and two pioneer 6x9 3 way on the back.
Here is the problem with my new Pioneer headunit at around 45 of 62 of the volume the speakers sound like they are deprived of power and sound like they are almost cutting out (its hard to describe). But with my old cheap head unit I was able to turn the volume up to almost max volume and the speakers would not cut out.
The settings on the pioneer headunit is as follow: -6 bass, -3 mid, +3 treble, loud setting off.
I just don't get what is causing this.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif . Could it be that my 12v line that's powering the headunit is too thin? (It's pretty **** thin.)
any help would be appreciated.
