I am new to this site, but not new to car stereo. I am a mechanical engineer and have been interested in audio since my teen years. In 1982 I built my first car amps, 8 100 w/ch amps, for an 8 speaker system, using Dynaudio drivers. Built my own 12 bit D/A and A/D converters, to adjust the time delay from music arriving from the back of the car to the front speakers. Computer designed my woofer box. Concord radio cassette head unit. Installed in a 1983 Dodge Charger. I have been designing my own speakers and amps for home stereos since then. For my Charger, I also built my own passive crossovers, brand new technology for the time, of "equal compromise" (Later came to be known as Linkwitz-Riley) 2nd order roll offs. Zobel networks. Won my first car stereo competition in 1985 in Virginia Beach.
