Anyway, I have a 2004 Dodge RAM with a stock system. I'm doing more driving now so I've decided to upgrade my car stereo.
This is my plan and I'm open to suggestions and/or feedback.

Amazon I ordered the Kicker speaker bundle - CS 6x9" coaxial speakers and CS 5.25" coaxial speakers with wiring harnesses and sound deadening mat. I will probably install these over the weekend. Question: will my stock head unit drive these speakers until my new head unit comes in?
On to the head unit. I've done a fair amount of research and decided to get the new Alpine ilx-107 with the Alpine KTP-445A power head. I'm sure you true audio aficionados are rolling your eyes at my amp selection but simplicity is my objective here. And to be able to buy a HU and amp that is plug and play without any additional installation work is very appealing. I'm not looking to get my ears to bleed, just nice clean sound with all the goodies that come with the CarPlay system.
Has anyone on here heard when the new ilx-107 will be shipping?
Crutchfield and others have it as back-logged or pre-order status.
