He guys I'm driving a 1988 Ford ranger GT I have a JVC head unit with some JVC 6 1/2" in the doors and some 4" in the dash running a pyramid arctic series 1000watt max (75w rms @ 2ohm x2) bridged with a 10" Pioneer IB-Flat shallow mount sub (300watt RMS 1000watt max) amp must be under rated cause I have to turn the gain down or I can smell the sub getting hot. I just redid the power wire today I will post pics tomorrow

Amp is def not under rated, probably over rated if anything. That sub getting hot and coil burning is from clipping the crap out of it

Sounds clean no clipping not saying its a good amp I know most pyramid is utter **** just saying puts out decent amount of power as it has no issues pushing the sub

Yeah. Tomorrow imma re route wiring if weather allows and I'll post more pics like I said today I ran a better power wire and cleaned up the engine bay a little bit so it looks factory under the hood. Gonna have to pull the seat tomorrow though so I can run it under the seat instead of along the door trim

The thing about subs is that they hide distortion well. That's why sub amps have much higher THD than full range amps. Nice everything else though in the car.

Thanks imma upgrade the amp soon I just have more important things to do first like fix transmission issues lol

Don't buy a new amp. When and if you're ready to upgrade everything, then it'll be the right time. Right now, you won't gain anything.

Kinda limited on space without building a custom box so system will be a while anyways.
