Just got a new laptop... running dual boot ubuntu 11.10 and windows 7 home premium. What are the first things you'd do to clean it up? The asus bloatware is outrageous.

Not a bad idea, i'm just wondering if some of this bloataware could actually be useful. Also, does anyone know if there is a way to share a folder between ubuntu and windows? I have them installed on separate partitions.

edit: yea im installing a fresh copy... I'll add what I want. My **** is taking too long to backup.

There is a way, yes. It is just mildly complicated as all Ubuntu stuff is (at least that's my opinion)

You can access folders and files from Windows 7 in your Ubuntu install naturally.

As for Asus stuff I have an Asus Laptop. Only thing I keep is the software for the Realtek HD audio, touch pad notifications, and the webcam software.

That is really great, I also love laptop.What is the mods of your laptop?
