I have not been around these new sub woofers yet, but I am interested in their mini amps.

I have one of those too. The 4x400d, but I haven't been able to get it installed yet.

60hz test tone @ 1 ohm, around 14 volts, 4 yellow top batteries, 150 amp alt, and my trusty DMM.. So I'll say it again, OVER RATED !!!!

Prove it then. All your doing right now is spitting a weak game. Anyone who has been in the audio business knows the opti-line does rated and are awesome amps.

Hell my old school VHC was a beast! Don't make them like that anymore, but still very solid amps and their opti line subs are nice as well.

3516 watts @ 1ohm pulling 432 amps of current, efficiency 57% @ 1ohm.

Long story short is a good 2 & 4ohm amp, wouldn't run at 1ohm. There are more efficient amps out there.

I'm on my job you feel me. So I'll let you make it with that lil comment. Again, efficiency was my whole point in the first place.

See I told you guys they don't put out rated power. I got about the same reading at 1 ohm. I think I got a reading of somewhere around 3400rms.

57% efficiency is bad for a class d. It should be about 75% at 1 ohm.

IIRC, that reveiwer admitted his PS was at its limit and voltage was sagging to around 12.

Don't think so. I think the only opti that's designed for 1/2 ohm loads is the 2kd. Which is 85% eff at 1/2 ohm and puts out over 1900w.

Unless it's a JL -- the 57% is fine and it's a "high end" amp.
