i did the calculations and my L7 has a .08 cubic foot volume.. that seems completely off considering..

i did the calcs on a CVX and it was .071.. seems off but iuno

well i used the 151 cubic inches of volume then used a few online calculators and it cam out to like .0873 cubic ft.. then i got my calculator and did 151 divided by 12^3 and it came out the same.. idk.. that was using the 06L7 T/S parameters though..

question: what is MMS? the parameters give the 08 specs but not displacement here ill copy..

Model: 08SL7D4

Norm Imp: 8.00

SPL: 87.47

Lem: 5.420

Reve: 6.77

SD: 0.0645

BL: 25.44

Vas: 45.46

Mms: 247.53

Fs: 31.55

Qms: 5.744

Qes: 0.586

Qts: 0.532

Just use the spec given in the manual. It doesn't have to be three figures accurate. Most of the time assuming 0.1 cf is close enough for a 12 and around 0.07 is close enough for a 10, unless you have a massive sub (or a really small one).

well i used the Mms (246.53) and it came out to .1432.. seems more accurate. and the basket is quite a bit more hearty on this sub than the 04 but i still dont know what Mms means.. google time

The displacement on my Alpine Type X 10 was .16^3... it was also 8.5" deep though... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif I would think an L7 12 would be a bit more than .08 though.

The Displacement in cubic inches that they list is correct. And I would bet that if you did submerge the sub in water you would find that it is probably very close to what they list. There is quite a bit of air between the cone and the basket so just because it sticks out far does not mean it takes up a lot of space.
