i understood the words i just hate it when people start breaking apart someone else's sentence to make them look "smart" when IMO makes them look like a smartass.....it's a **** forum not language class

The ability to accurately present your thoughts using proper diction are indicative of intelligence. Some people don't use "big words" or semantical arguements to appear "smart". Indeed some people that are smart simply talk like that. If you have an inability to do the same and percieve it as condescending, it's your problem.

i dont have a problem with someone being smart (i have a 3.9 gpa jus so ya know) but when they start criticizing someone's misuse of word thats jus gettin picky and smartassy if thats a word but u mite want to go check the dictionary and criticize me on that as well.....oh look how i spelled mite...its the end of the **** world...like i said its jus a forum not english class

Irrelevant. Intelligence and being good at regurgitating information onto a page are two entirely different things. As someone with a 3.9 GPA, you should know this, no? Then again, they rarely teach common sense classes nowdays. Oops, I'm being 'smartassy'.

Are we still arguing about jlaine's analysis of the word 'skewed'? If anybody would bother to check the dictionary, they would find that jlaine's definition is indeed not the only one.

The sentence: "Arguing with someone whose views are skewed so strongly (wether correct or incorrect) would have undoubtedly been a waste of time." Does indeed make sense. The fact that I decided not to argue over word usage doesn't mean that I'm not right, just that I don't want to make an issue of word usage.

I hate it when people make fun of the way other people choose their words. Mark ab is 100% right. Also, Jlaine and Mark are the type of people I respect most, yes, simply by the language they use. And if asked, would most likely take their opinions. I feel generally sorry for the people who barely understand the more complicated language as they usually will not end up being sucessful in life.
