New K's....

Anyone heard anything about these yet?...

I have a friend that wants something so he can play a little bit of every type of music. Mostly old rock and country, rap when I'm around, so I told him not to look anywhere around here and just get you a nice set of subs, say RE or Elemental. I think he is gonna go with a pair of 12" K's. So I was just wondering if anyone has heard anyting about them....

Also I was wondering about amps. I know they have the package deal but it would take him a bit to save up 430... Any suggestions on amps? I was thinking the Brutus 1000d. Should he wait till they come out, or are they close to coming out?...
if he cant afford the combo then how will he be able to afford 2 k's and some other amp? the preorder combo is probably the best deal u can get, very very cheap.

When a product changes, for the 40th time, but it's because of someone elses fault, clearly not eD's?

You don't seriously think all this crap is nobody's fault do you?

You don't seriously think the 'build house' (THINK, he's on the 3rd and 4th stable US based one now, doesn't that RING some alarms?) or the 'customers' or 'overseas vendors' are all at fault every time - do you? (or hell, perhaps you do... I'm sorry!)

When a product breaks, during regular use - and you are to call it user error? (every other company I know sucks it up and says "hey, we did wrong, we'll fix it" - if it's obviously their fault... Not eD... With them it's "Hey, you screwed this up, but we are going to be nice guys and let you wait for 8 weeks for a new one that may not be like the one you bought in the first place, but you should be happy we are helping you at all."

When you push yet another preorder until your head expodes, and then you spend the next 3 months praying for them to actually ship?

eD does their best to blindside and *** kiss in the attempt to make up for a horribly inept business structure and support. (which you are now a shining example of, congratulations)

Wake up - you don't know half the story yet, when you do you'll hate it.

Here's a news flash - your 'boy' will throw you to the sharks as soon as he sees a path that leads toward a more lucrative gain without you.

You are seriously delusional if you think he's innocent in any of this, and is just being picked on by people.

What do people think when they think eD? "Cheap... and uh... seems to break a lot..."

Don't give me this CRAP load about how "most of the satisified customers don't report their satisifaction" - I've seen eD's awesome reliability rating firsthand - a hell of a lot more than you have.

I mean, there were only 2 failed 15A drivers. Ever. I swear.
5 in under a single competition season I witnessed (one was in an SQ car, of all things.) That's not counting the 2 15SP's I reglued every time they were burped.

Never exceeded Xsus, just can't hack it's own backwave in a decently designed box.

But it's user error... Honest.

(You know what's even more strange? The user still has it (fixed) and doesn't run it right now... But will soon, and fully expects it to eventually break...

selling subs to those who just window shop.. and misleading people. I think the new surround is a good idea, but i can't see the point in naming it by the next size up woofer.. it's rediculous imo.

so that is why the subs have really fu(ked up model numbers

warranty issues, you know very well that i had a couple of busted 15A's. never has Ben, or any individual affiliated with eD ever said that it was user fault. my response was always "put this RA number on the box, send it back, and we will get it taken care of ASAP. the only people that have ever made those claims are individuals on the net, most of whom never even had experience with the driver. you can search everywhere, i have always defended the user. the problems with that driver were never user error(as far as i know), nor was it a problem with the cone breaking, you also know that. i also have no intentions of sitting here trying to defend a company because of prior mistakes. if there is a problem with any of the new line, whatever may/may not arise, let me know, i will deal with it the best i can.

reputation? actually, they have an excellent rep on the net, except for a few disgruntled individuals. some of which have no prior experience with eD products. like i said, i am not exactly sure what your issues are, but in all reality, they are none of my business.

maybe the company will flop in the future, maybe it will blossem into something wonderful. either way, i will find out without hearing ramblings of someone who has a personal vendetta against the company.

I've got nothing against the company - I have something against the way they run things. I'm tired of smoothing over their crap - and your boy has proven to me he's not worth my effort of doing just that, so I'm going to state my opinion as I see it now. Don't like it? Guess you are in a bad position then.

You can sit there from your standpoint and say whatever you like, but you had better up that faith a little - because faith isn't going to dig you out of where you are putting yourself. I found that out firsthand.

It's not as if eD's the first company to have problems with a build house...Scott @ Onyx let me in on a few of the details involving his past problems with Destilj, and then the problems he had with the cone vendors for the LSMv.2. These problems attributed to why he had to close his doors...shit just took too long, or it wasn't built correctly.

Adire hasn't been immune, either. People are starting to forget about the large number of Brahma problems that occurred about 1.5-2 years ago. They were blowing quite consistently there for awhile on the MKI.

Either way, I'd rather Ben have to change things up yearly than stick with a build house that can't provide products on time that meet the req's. I do know quite a few of the details, and unfortunately I'm not allowed to divulge them, but many of the problems eD's had have NOT been under their control. I certainly doubt Ben likes having to change products yearly; it's an expensive process, and then we have to listen to people like yourself ***** about it all the time.

Yeah, I'm an eD rep now, but I've been an online supporter of Ben's for several years now. You'll find I'm not saying anything different than I have in the past 3 years. Ben is a good guy, plain and simple.

i agree, and for jlaine to be talking ish about ED and theyr service and build quality, i find that kind of ironic. Like Adire has never had any problems with the brahmas...... :rollseyes:

AMEN! Screw brands as a whole, it HAS to go product by product. People who say they would NEVER run RF... I'm sure they would jump for a pair of TRF's...

It comes down to what works best for you in your application, not what brand it is.
