New Kicks (Pics)

lookin pretty good man! next time flush mount them. hows the tweeter sound up so high? is it being blocked by the dash?

next time, try and see if you can buy those panels from the dealer\junkyard and glass right over them for a perfect fit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i sure bet they could order them, its going to cost you a few $$$

but its really worth it. sand them down with some 60grit (front\sides\back) for adhesion, then mount your baffle like normal with dowels\glue, maybe drill a few holes (to let the resin seep thru and stick better - rivets would work here too, dont want the glass de-taching), put a layer or two of glass down to strengthen the ABS, then stretch the baffle, resin the inside\outside cover, and your done //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you MIGHT be able to tape them all up, mould them with some resin, rivet them on (a few holes) then baffle\stretch\resin, and cover it...

but a guy just did kicks this way;

you can figure the sanding and crap yourself; but if i were you, id try and use somthing ALOT thinner (Tshirt?) than fleece, because it makes the edges of the kicks about 1\4" thicker, and it could mess stuff up quite a bit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

i didnt - those are some other guys, but he says on his site how he put them all together. basically hot-glue on the baffle, stretched the fleece over the stock kick panel, and they fit perfectly beforehand. so they fit perfectly after //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

/edit

One thing you need to keep in mind is that both of those drivers (the tweeter and 3" Dome Midrange) have sealed backs....which means they literally don't need an enclosure (or lack there of). Not to mention the very, very shallow mounting depths.

Totally different mounting up 3" Dome, sealed back mids and tweeters than it is setting up, installing and mounting 6.5" mids. With the 6.5" mid you have to take airspace into consideration, sealing the backside of the "enclosure", etc etc......

thats why in my post i was talking about sealing the reverse side. those dynaudios are super awesome... and if i didnt go with horns, id definatly have an active 3way setup with some 6.5~8" midbass, 4~6.5 inch midrange, and a nice mellow tweet. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/yumyum.gif.0556df42231b304b9c995aefd13928a8.gif
