to every one that loves jl audio. at the end of the year or early next year jl will introduce the new w3. it is the v3. it will look like the new w1's. i learned this from a dealer that is friend of mine.

I dont care for the JL W1 plastic type cone and it doesnt look that good either. The current W3 cone is fine they should maybe beef it up a lil to look like a W6 a bit .

it will have the a rubber surround instead of the foam. and the power is suppose to go up like 50 watts maybe its no guarntee. thats really all i know.

Hopefully its a good woofer. I've always thought the w3 was one of the best all around woofers. IMO its very musical and rather forgiving with boxes. But its still rather pricey compared to internet world subs.

I personally like the w3's. A friend of mine had 2 running off a kx700.5 (sub channel), and they got plenty loud and still sounded good. Considering you can snaga pair pn ebay for under 300 I don't think theyre bad for the money at all.

Obviously you've never owned a W3 sub before. I used to have 2 15w3's and they pounded hard. In fact, I managed a 146 in a sealed box off a MTX 81000D amp, with stock alt and batt....no cap(s). Still think they're lame?? Yea there's better out there but we all know that.

ive had a w3v2 before.

its a nice subwoofer, but its nothing special

I have a 12w3v2 D2 and i have to say it was well worth the money i padi for it. IT is by far one of the better subs i have owned. I've thrown over 500 watts at it and it still sounded great if i had a bigger amp i'd give it more and i'm sure it could take it
