The ms62 comps have SO much mid bass and its clear. I have them in q-logic kick panels and REALLY like them they surprised me. Especially for getting them for $90 new. They were old stock a shop had so i didnt even hesitate. They really surprised me you actually feel the punch of the mid bass its nice

im thinking of changing my p660s for the IA components, saw a video of them and they seem nice and their the same price.

The ms62's are decent but I honestly dont see them keeping up with 18s. 15s already drown mines out like nothing. Also they have tinsel lead problems. I'd recommend piecing together some good smooth soft dome tweeters with pro audio 6.5 ran active since you have an 18. It sounds soo much better than normal components and can definitely keep up

Always wanted to try active comp setup. I'll see what these jbls's do first and if not pleased,I'll try an active front stage. I'm telling you know,I'm gonna need some advice from you, lol. Heard it isn't as simply,e as it seems trying to get the tuning right

Whats your mid-bass crossed at? Without deadening your mids get way to much pressure making it distort.

I have the same set and can get very good mid-bass.

Also are you active and the amp during active can cause signal issues due to crossovers.

I ordered a PPI BK210.2 for these speakers. Everything I've read is that these get insanely loud with good midbass and no distortion. I'll report back when it gets in & wired up.

There's only a small few, if you are talking about the one i'm thinking of, the guy has his doors deadened pretty well with sheet metal and mass loaded vinyl. Idk why you think you'll get more distortion deadening your doors. If anything you will have more cone control since the door will act like a speaker box. Instead of wasting money swapping speakers, work on proper acoustical treatments, they make a big difference man. Rear wave absorbtion, sealed gaps, sealed speaker baffles, lower panel resonance etc..

The ms62s in a sealed Q logic box Vs the p660c in an IB with back wave interference all over, not really a fair comparison seeing that one is in a proper enclosure. Just like subwoofers, the box is everything man. Door's a pseudo-box too when its molded into one.

there's 9 parts, i'd suggest performing each step. The quality of the install can also be why the speakers might sound bad. These treatments make the biggest difference in midbass and midrange performance.

Thanks for that link, Jeffdachef! I'm going to check into that for sure!

But, for now, I am absolutely floored. First, I ordered that amp from Sonic Electronics who aren't too far from me, one state east, and it got here yesterday. Got everything wired up today, and it sounds incredible! No distortion, no nothing! I got everything up and running and dialed in pretty good, and I am amazed. I'm going to have to dampen my trunk first, because it rattles like crazy. It's mostly my tail lights, but I'll attack it with stuff from this article. That's the nice thing my little old BMW, there isn't a lot of plastic. My door panels are thin MDF covered in pleather, dashboard is padded vinyl, headliner is cloth, and everything fits together really well. Not something I can say for newer BMWs, I must admit. I'm just not looking to add a ton of weight to my car. I built a 450 HP car to go fast, and adding 200# of sound deadening will kind of negate that. I'm actually looking at reducing weight (lighter carpet, removing unnecessary systems, racing seats, suspension components) while retaining my "Daily Driver" status of the car (nice stereo, complete interior, etc.).
