New horsepower wars

Yeah, wicked fast electric cars. Instant torque, no curve just off and on! lol.
It's not the same though. Imagine doing the 1/4 in like 10 secs but no sound!? No whine of the bike or roar of the car? It's not going to be as fun haha

I'd take one of those in a sec though lmao

That's what I hated about my Grand National. Ran mid 11's, but was quiet as hell. Just didn't have that muscle car sound, but got 25+ mpg and could be driven across country no problem.

Cars in the 60's/70's made a lot of horsepower/torque, but tires were the limiting factor back then. No drag radials, soft compound slicks, etc.. like we have today.

My 4000+ station wagon ran 10.30's on pump gas on a drag radial, so muscle car technology has improved also //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

God i love the grand nationals. That's why I rock a Buick now. I hope to supercharge one day //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

But I wholeheartedly agree that tires were a major limiting factor back then. We really have come a long way with tire technology.

They'll probably head straight to Hydrogen. Unless thats what the FCX uses //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
Hydrogen is a stupid plan too. It pulls from the national grid. Renewables like Ethanol IMO are the best option.

Actually I like that they are somewhat quiet, but still sound good mine has a nice mean throaty idle, but not too loud to attract unnecessary attention.

Yeah but it depends a lot on how the exhaust is setup like on most cars. Mine has a cheater pipe in place of the cat going to dual flowmasters exiting behind the rear tires and love the sounds of it.

There my favorite too, didn't know about them until a friend of the faimly told me he had it for sale and asked if I was interested, I like the looks and asked to take it for a ride... As soon as I dropped the hammer I was in love.

Lol - only solution: A Vroom Box!

Haha on Pimp My Ride they but a vroom box on a minivan so they could make it sound like a "muscle car" or an "import car" it was the dumbest thing I have ever seen but it was hilarious.

Vesla with Vroom Box = Win.
