New horsepower wars

A lot of car guys talk about how things were back then in the 60's when there were a lot of fast cars and horsepower wars amongst different manufacturers. SO what about nowadays? What do you think people in 20 or 30 years from now will think about what car companies are doing these days? I mean we got some really fast cars coming from American car companies, Germans are duking it out, and Asian cars are definitely not behind by much. also, with how fast cars back then were compared to now, how fast do you think our cars will get in the future. I mean we got Toyota camry's that'll put some muscle cars to shame.

there will be talk of the "crash protection wars", or "emmision wars", or weight/power wars, etc...

but probably not about all our power...

at least thats the way i can see it happening.

I think a hybrid war with companies fighting for the lastest technology is on the horizon.

as long as the 2000's come out in history as bein better then the 80's for cars...ill be happy with that bein said yes their are some of my favorite cars of all time in the 1980's

there definitly is a throw back to the 60's (pure speculation, I am too young to remember) but look at the 03/04 Mustang Cobra and GT-500's as well as the Z06 corvettes the SRT-8 and other chrystler products even an SRT-8 Jeep for cryin out loud. There may be a lot of Hybrid talks but there is just as much Horsepower talks out there, even in the Diesel world lol scary to see 8,000lb trucks that can run in the 10's

fuck the horsepower war, i'm more worried about the Iraqqi war and how much that's gonna raise gas prices. Can't go fast unless u have the money for gas

indeed, I agree. But have you seen how fast some of these japanese mid size sedans are? The accord and camry both do 0-60 in under 7 seconds! Thats what a lot of muscle cars did, if not faster. And not to mention that Mercedes new 08 C63 Amg does 0-60 in right under 4 seconds and the quarter mile in 12s. Its gettin rediculous. Even ****in pickups are gettin crazy. The Ram Srt-10 is a ****ing beast.
