Cars are much faster today, but they are also much more expensive. Part of the horsepower wars back in the 60's and 70's was that even younger peeps could afford a musclecar that had tons of horsepower. They weren't super fast compared to todays standards but tons faster than economy cars today. They also had personallity, were loud as hell, and obnoxious.

Try to find that today without spending 40+ grand on a car!

I'd love to buy or fix one up but because of trendy things and auctions like barrett jackson. Musclecars or anything from that era have become ridiculously overpriced. Do you know how much a freaking mint roadrunner costs now? It's horrible.

But we also make more money nowadays. So with inflation, it's almost equivalent. But thats also why the import scene took off so much.

eh yes and no. We pay a lot more for insurance and whatnot. It's still more espensive $ per horsepower ratio today when talking about "fast" cars.

you know that they already have two seater electric cars capable of speeds faster than a Z06, right?

its pretty awesome stuff.

buuuuuut, i cant see electricity being "the fuel of the future", because of the limited ranges and long recharging times. its got to be something that is an instant power source.
