when it comes to the l-series, vented to the largest always wins for output/efficiency. that 12 should take a 3.25^3 net internal + 40"^2 vent@ 14.5"....... will give you the best output. the box technically tunes to 41hz, but the sub itself keeps the peak output up all the way down..... and it's more than "a little more" efficiency difference, you just get a bit flatter response with sealed

few other things on my mind. should i upgrade my alt? or will my stock 90 amp be enough? on my on my slot ported boxfor to 10's, is this box useless anotherwords? i was getting a brain fart on firing the center slot vent threw the back seat armrest opening into the cabin. it is a perfect fit and lines up with the boxes slot port perfect.

imo, you want the sub and port firing in the same airspace..... as for the alt, i would start with the big3 and see what your voltage does.

ok update! kicker L5 sub is ratteling when played. so wont use it. my options are by a nother 12" and buids a box. have around 2.0 to play with for box size. or use the slot vented box and get 2 decent 10s and live with that. inall honesty i listen to lots of different types of music. not souly rock. love linkin park, evenecence,emenim, chevelle, buck cherry, tesla, motley crue, old rock, see where i am comming from. so now, i have about 450 whats out of that kicker amp on a 2 ohm mono load. and got about 250 or so for sub or subs. Hmmmmm! one of my friends let me stick 2 of his 10 inch dayton subs in my slot ported box and ran it off his ppi pcx2200 amp. didnt sound to bad?

let me share what i have in my jeep cherokee and i dont think it sounds half bad. alpine deck, stock speakers with wizzer cones! a small old kicker amp running the fronts. a californian amp running a pair of dub 12s in a 2.50 sealed box faceing the rear. yeas you may laugh at me. i know that it is awefull. but i kinda think it sounds alright. years ago a guy in town had 4 old school pyle drivers and ran them off of 4 small ADS amps. was in a 89 camero. had a 2 knob alpine and alpine eq. that thing would hit! he just used the big hole in the rea of car. with a board and subs on top of it. how is this possible!!!!!

First, it's a Camaro........that gives db points right there. next, pyledrivers are cheap, and not only run efficient off little power, but will only handle little power..... He got just about the most out of them.....look around the sub section, there is a lot of good references and links in there...
