Hello All,
First off I want to thank all who have posted such useful information on this site. +1 for you! I was lucky enough to get my hands on a brand new '09 STI. The problem is Subaru spent all their money on performance and not audio. The stock system is dreadful.
I want to purchase Magden's Mb1 car computer. For that don't know what that is, its a computer that connects to your cars ECU and allows you to display your cars parameters (boost, temps, etc....) through the Video in on a source unit. It has software that allows it to be compatible to a touchscreen. Problem is, all popular high quality double din touchscreen source units are not compatible. You would have to use a USB mouse/trackball with those decks.
My plan is to purchase a double din sized touchscreen and use my Creative Zen :M Mp3 player as an audio/video source. This would allow me to to toggle between the cars parameters and see my audio/video on screen. I would use the mp3 player like a remote, and use the larger screen in the dash to choose the media I want.
Now to the question: Is there a device which allows you to connect a MP3 player that has a master volume control and outputs a signal strong enough to drive an external amp. I was thinking something like JL's Cleansweep. Is there anything else out there that does the same thing?
Any comments/ suggestions would be appreciated. Sorry for the long post.
