Hi guys,

First of all I;m from the UK, not sure how many UK members we have here, as most of you seem from US?

Anyway, I bought a PIONEER FH-P80BT and started to fit it today in my MK5 Golf GT FSI.

All went in well, got it working with my mobile phone etc.

The HU does not turn on when I tur nthe ignition on.. is this normal does anyone know?

Also does not turn off when I turn the ignition off

When i turn it off manually, a litthe blue light (Telephone) stays on in the bottom right...

I'm just a little worried this is going to drain my battery, or if theres something wrong with the wiring somewhere?

i have the HU connected with the normal connectors, and then the seperate power cables are connected.

Red - red

Blue / white - blue / white

Yellow - Yellow

Anyone have any ideas or can help me?

Double check that the 12v+ and 12v ignition switched wires are connected correctly.

The color coding could be different. Cross reference your HU manual to your Car's diagram. Sounds to me like you've got them backwards. Double check with a multimeter if you have one.

Tried swapping them round, still same issue.

Been told its something to do with VW, they left it all "live", therefore some extra wiring is required!

Guess i'll take it to an Auto technician
