OK, i'm sorta new at installing the head unit myself. I have all the stuff for it, but i've simply put it in the mounting kit and placed it in the dash. The ****'d thing skips practically every bump i hit. Is there anyway i can eliviate this problem?? I didn't put the mounting strip on the back of it, could that be the cause?

grr grrr, okaz, i put that ****'d thing in, but it really doesn't help much, little better though. What else could i do, get a new mounting kit?? or just scrap the ****'d thing an' start all over?

yeah if the unit is mounted solid then I would say try and return it so you can get a better one... I know it's a pain in the *** though if you already bought the wiring harness and soldered it together... does it come with a remote? maybe you could mount it in the back somehow and then just use the remote to work it while you are driving...?

nah, no remote. it's just an expensive el cheapo i think, lol. i was thinking about getting the panasonic head unit, one of the middle priced ones 'round 150-200. those werk good?? or any suggestions

just make sure the one you get has the features that you want and one that will allow

for future expansion, in my case it was the three sets of preamp outputs...if you start with a

weak signal then you are kind of doomed from the start that's the way I looked at it as far as

brand names go I had a sony it was good, didn't break I sat on the face so now I have an Alpine which I like better...I'd

also look at the blaupunkt line they seem to offer good features on their units for a realistic

price...the panasonic line does have good features for the money but I am weary of them

just cause of a few things I bought from them that I had problems with ...

I have look'd at the blaupunkts, been to a dealer for them, but noticed that their units w/ certain detachable faceplates are crap and woble even when closed

yeah make sure you look at what you are buying...yeah I dunno it seemed like the blaupunkts had good features for the money I guess

that explains how they can do it ie cheaping out on other stuff like the faceplates
