I have it done on my car but I have to push the normal brake and flip a switch, not sure exactly how it works. From what I remember you either need a switch or a constant power source. The guys that did my car did it that way cause of an issue my car head it was a good compromise. The manual should explain how it works.

Just take the wire on the monitor and instead of running it to the break, ground it like a normal ground wire- should do the job.
