New Havoc's or hdc3 12"

****, you are a touchy little guy aren't ya?
hey, what do you think is faster, the 2009 vette or 2010 viper? and do you think they will look nice? which one will look nicer? that's the type of question you are asking. i think there are two people that have seen and heard the HDC3 on this board so everything on here is speculation, and there is already a crap ton of specualtion in the HDC3 thread.

but here you go: If the HDC3 is anything like the HD3, that's the driver you want. you want loud? you need power, so how loud you want to go is up to you. IMO the HD3 is very musical and i think they sounded great, and got loud. To some others, they are just bangin subs. it really depends on the install. never heard a havoc, but they aren't in the same league as the HD3.

and btw Mr. Crabby, stick around for a while and you'll see how many threads like this pop up when new subs are released.
haha come on man im definitely not comparing the way these speakers look...not even really comparing them.. more comparing their install capabilities, power capabilities, room for upgrade, versatility. IMO i already think the HDC3 will get louder, i was just looking for the input that a Havoc will also get ridiculously loud, and that one could possibly hit 140 and the other could hit 150 (db's just for example), aka not much audible (to human ears) difference. therefore i could get the havoc and have a much more efficient system while maintaining extreme levels of SPL, or get the HDC3 and have extreme spl, new alternator, much bigger amp, bigger wires, which is not all that big of a deal (only about $400-$500 difference) but if the HDC3 wont get that much louder, than why spend the money....you know? and didnt mean to rag on your city, im sure crunkville is a great place to pass through.

If all you care about is loudness (or like some dummy above, how much power a coil can handle), then get the HDC3 and quit complaining about the help you receive. Personally, I would get the Havoc. At the very least, you're comparing a sub that is available against one that isn't.
"those 2 subs aren't even comparable" help huh? weird

and yeah, i think i am leaning towards the Havoc, just to be more efficient, and also yes i do pretty much only care about SPL so im gonna get the 15" and throw a md2 on there.

being a tech at sound solutions, what size/tune enclosure would you suggest. its going in a ext cab ford ranger..... i was thinkin 3sqft @ 30hz...

As with most 15" subs, you'll probably be limiting your output with 3 cubes ported at 30 Hz (and you'll have a harder time getting Fb that low in an enclosure that small without getting port noise). I'd say start at 3.5 cubes at 30 Hz and go larger from there. If you're limited on space, the Havoc has the throw for a lot of output in sealed enclosures as well.

yeah LAWL:nerd:
I haven't heard any reviews so I didn't know... Let's not cry about it. Excuse my inaccurate statement... I'll go crawl in a hole now:escape:

If you didn't know, then don't post about it. Simple as that...Wait for someone that does, then read it & learn something. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

k well ive decided on the HDC3 when available. to get a 12"

i know that on the audioque website they state that the sub will perform best in the sq ftage they give. 2.5sqft for 12" and to tune to 40hz. should i do this?? or would it be fine, if not better, to have the box bigger (still tuned at 40hz), or would that loose some frequencies, or output potential??

also i can't decide on an amp, here are my options @ 1ohm:

-hifonics bxi2006d, (possibly the 2607d, but it is more expensive)

-US Amps md.3d (REFURBISHED....) but like $300 off ikesound.com

-Powerbass asa-2000.1d

-Earthquake PHD5000 (old red one)..REFURBISHED and i think it was 2ohm stable..no biggy

-or i have seen a few planet audio amps going around that seen like they could do work.

any other suggestions in the $350 area would be cool

haha jokes. you know what i meant. but any real advice. maybe some on an amp?? when the hell are these speakers coming out anyway?? still in building??

any input on the amp choice. i am really thinking about the powerbass asa 2000.1d for the fact that it is strappable and if it doesnt hit hard enough for me, then ill throw another one in there. they are pretty cheap off ebay brand new. i really like the us amps md.3d (factory refurbished), but its not strappable, and if i wanted to add power that would restrict me. what do you guys think???
