so i did alot of wire work today, replaced my melted 1/0 gauge in the engine, and trimmed down all my extra wires. While i did this, i moved my ground for my amps from where the back hatch latches, and moved it to the back of my seat, and no power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif it sparks when i touvh the grounds to the metal. not sure good or bad

Soooooo..

Why did your wire melt? Shorted without fusing?

How bad are the sparks?

Sure you didn't reconnect your wires wrong?

I hooked up my Banda 5k in reverse polarity because it was late at night and I couldn't see the inputs as well. When I tried to connect my battery back to ground, there was a ridiculous amount of sparks. Realized my mistake and then hooked it up right. Amp still worked fine and has been owned by at least two other people since I sold it locally, then traded back for it, and traded it with my M4a for the Taramps 20k

it only melted because it touched a piece of metal that heats up when the engine runs, fixed with some zip ties, and i checked to make sure, and there hooked up right, and there very small sparks, nothing that went "poof"

Was it a positive power wire that melted and shorted on that metal?

Arc and Spark.

When wired up in reverse, it would Arc which is scary if not expecting it.

Anyways, when exactly means no signal?

No signal technically has nothing to do with the power/ground wires as signal is carried over AC, not DC.

Please elaborate what is happening.

so my amps usually have a light that turns on when they are on, they arent. THey spark when the 2 grounds from each amp touch as i set them on the back of my seat. Is it because its not the frame of my car? i double checked and the grounds and powers are correct, not reversed.
