hey everyone

my name is TJ i am a full time college student so money isn't really flowing out of my ears. and with gas prices the way they are the 90 mile round trip to college 3x a week is getting pretty expensive but i should have enough to atleast finish my project.

i am just getting into car audio. i got my car for a graduation present last year, it is a 1996 Chevrolet Lumina, it was a present from my grandparents. it might not be the fastest or the coolest but it is def. the loudest around. but of course i live in the middle of nowhere in west virginia but every one says they know i am comming before i get there. i currently have 2 12" and 2 10" subs installed running off 2 1000 watt amps. but am in the process of build ing a custom fit fiberglass enclosure for 4 12" and 2 10" and hope to have it done before summer.

well i just thought i would tell you a little bit about myself.

Welcome to the forum. There's going to be plenty of people that ask so I'll go ahead and get it out of the way....what 12s and 10s are you running and off of what kind of amps? I see that you posted that they are 1,000w amps but sometimes amp manufacturers place some rather unrealistic wattage claims on their products for marketing purposes and you have to be careful whether or not you've actually gotten yourself a 1,000w amp or a 200w amp that claims 1,000w.

So - like what brand/model of gear are you running?

And //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif Cali-boi is by far not going to be the 1st (or the last) person who suggests not running different size subs. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

It is all xplod

HU

5.25's in the front doors

6x9's in the rear deck

2 12's 1200 max

2 10's 1100 max

2 1000 watt amps

it might not be the best but it is affordable and i can buy it without having to take out a loan.

when i get around to finishing the fiberglass enclosure it will have 3 seperate chambers with 2 subs in each one. 12's together and 10's together.

i guarantee you that you are going to get flamed for using xplods.. but i know they re affordable but like what blackbonnie said, you can get wayy better subs for those prices..

many people go through xplods when they r young(which includes me) before they find out there is a far better subs for the price than the xplods.. so i can guarantee you that you r not the first.. after some time around here, you ll understand what we r talking about.. there is plenty of decent subs for great prices around here at car audio classfieds sub forum..
