new distro block, causing low voltage?

So my current setup is a pioneer deck, viper d1200.1, profile ca600. viper is pushing subs, profile is pushing comps. i switched distribution blocks because the old one was corroded and i got a rockford one that has 4 8awg out and 1 4awg in. i need to go 4awg in, 1 4awg out, anad 1 8awg out.

so i went to walmart and picked up an el-cheapo battery terminal and plugged them all into one side (my cap is not hooked up to the amp because i dont have the right plugs for them) and now the voltage on my dig display for the cap is hardly getting over 12v.

so the question is, am i getting a voltage drop from using some POS distro block(battery terminal), or is it because my cap isnt plugged into my amp?

(the cap is still grounded and receiving power from the battery terminal, im checking the voltage on the digital display on my cap, my car usually runs at 14.2-14.4v)

if its right at 12, the alt isnt doing anything, a distro block isnt going to make a setup go from 14-12v

but im saying as soon as i switched disto blocks and upgraded wire, the voltage just dropped.

I don't know if this is your problem, but when i switched distro blocks my amp was barely getting any power it turns out one of the fuses that came with it was no good and for some reason wasn't blown but didn't let full power go through it.

this is just a straight battery terminal, solid block of metal. its made by scorche so.....

measure the voltage of the battery itself

what dont people understand about troubleshooting?... this is why I could never work at a tech helpline, too many stupid people out there with no clue.

dude, the same thing happened to me, i got my system all hooked up, turned it on, slowly turned it up, little by little, and then all of a sudden my hifonics stopped playing music, and the lights on the front were only lighting on one side, and very dim, and i just about cried..

turned out that i blew one of the fuses in my fused stinger distro block, and that fused distro blocks apparently are NOT 100% effective at breaking circuit, so i tossed it in the garbage.

ha, i guess thats when i call companies to ask about stuff they talk to me like im retarded
