New Deck Install problems - Volume

Hey my buddy just picked up a Alpine 9884 and put it in his 98 maxima with the Bose set up.. The speakers are run off a stock Bose amp.. Everuthing else is completely stock.. The deck works perfect, but seems to be extremely loud.. Even when the volume is at 1, its stupid loud.. Almost like the gains on the amp are jacked.. Any ideas on what could be happening here??

maybe the settings on the hu are all set to the loudness maxxed out or the sla could be any of those, or the hu may be messed up
