New computer setup

I am looking at upgrading my current comp. I would like some opinions on what I am looking to get.

MB: SOYO SY-KT600 Dragon Ultra Platinum

Memory: Crucial 512mb DDR400 (do I need 1 stick or 2?)

Processor: AMD Athlon XP 2500+ or 2600+

I already have an 80gig HD, but in the future I would like to go a SATA setup. I also have a ATI 64mb video card and it will do for now.

Does anyone have any experince with the Soyo motherboards? From what I have read this is one of there best ones. As for the processor is there a big difference between the 2500 and the 2600?

You won't notice a difference between the two. The actual clock speed is so little that you could overclock it very little to reach the same performance. I didnt look up the specs on that mobo, but most likely it takes dual channel ram, so you want that, and it requires two sticks.
