So... my BMW is really ticking me off. After a 400 dollar power steering pump the power steering rack goes out... thats a 500 dollar part. I absolutely love that car, but I'm just getting fed up with it.

So I picked up a 1994 Civic DX hatch to drive until I fixed the BMW. Well, turns out I really like the little Civic so I'll probably sell the BMW all together once I replace the power steering rack.

Anyway, to keep this simple... I'd love to see some SQ install pictures for a Civic hatch of this body style. This will be my daily car... I'll be picking up something else, either a hatch or a wagon as a street bass car for shows //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I know how you feel! I went through almost two years of constant problems with my 740...sinking anywhere from $500 to $1000 a month in repairs. I just sold it and have been driving my wifes 01 Altima after getting her a new car. I have to say, I love the Altima and not having to worry about repairs. I was going to get another BMW or Mercedes, but after changing out the stereo in the Altima I find myself wondering why I really need anything else! Nothing drives like a BMW, but nothing will clean out your wallet quite like one either!

I was looking at getting a second vehicle for stereo shows anyway //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif So, I didn't buy it JUST for that reason, but it was a convenient time to pick up another car.

Overall the BMW was very easy to maintain. The biggest repair I did before this was all four window regulators at $70 each. No biggy really... and my research beforehand told me that would be a problem. The engine is wonderful and runs like brand new with 100k miles on it. Yes, it's a 2002 with 100k miles, I average 25k a year //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I replaced the suspension from shocks to bushings too, but only because I wanted to. So I don't count that.

I'm still brain storming what I'm gonna do in the hatch. I'm taking out most of the equipment from the BMW so I'll have a set of DLS Iridium 6.3 comps, a Rockford 3Sixty.2, and an SI Mag D2 12" to start with -- and any amount of Sundown amps that I want!

x3 german parts ****.. my passat has cost be quite a bit also. that civic hatch should be a real nice daily car though!

Yeah, I was looking at the LS430 and instead bought the BMW 740i...loved the car but the maintenance really made me regret not getting a Lexus. 6 catalytic converters at $1k/per within 2 years and lots more trouble on top of that... yuck.

Anyway, going back in time to the 1980's... "I think I'm turning Japanese. I really think so."
