I had someone set me up with ports for THIS box that would tune my port(s) to 28 hz.

He told me to make three 2.75" x 2.75" ports that were 20" long.

I made one 18.75" x 1.8" port that was 20" long.

Same volume.

I'm still proud, if it whistles then I can be special.

"You need at least 35 square inches of port area in a 1:8 ratio or smaller."

How do I go about making 35 SQUARE inches of port area?

I feel bad for the man.

Maybe you should pm one of the people on here and ask if they can design you a ported box for a small fee. If you dont know much about ported boxes i wouldnt suggest just throwing the wood together and hoping it sounds good, because they can be tricky if you dont know what your doing.

10 inches tall, 3.5" wide, 10 x 3.5 = 35 in^2. it is the cross sectional area of the port. I would go for a port 15" x 3" at least and flare the port on both ends and round the bend in it.

what I would do is just seal off the port, take the internal volume again and stick some aero ports in there....

PVC pipe. Round ports. 35sq inches of port area might be difficult to get though.

ya thats wat basically a "round ported" box is. a sealed box with ports in it much eisier to calculate than a slotted port

trigger, I want your help to fix it, but when people try to make me look like an idiot I don't appreciate it.

I'm here to learn, I never claimed to be an expert, much less GOOD.

I have never built a box before in my life. I just don't want to pay 200 dollars for one that's tuned correctly.
