New Audio Sytem Not What I Expected....

In my 2009 Chevy Silverado Crewcab,

My audio setup consists of:

Pioneer AVICZ110BT head unit connected with Kicker PKD1 wire to:

sealed dual downfiring box with amp space, housing :

2 12" Pioneer Shallow Mount Subwoofers

US Amps MD-1D Amp

I have no experience with sound systems.. haven't ever had anything besides stock radios.

It was installed by a pro custom shop.

I fail too notice any consistant B00oom (onomatopoeia) happening. All I'm getting is quick bumps really.

To hear the bass I've gotta crank the volume to the point where the words/other sounds are loud as freakin heck.

It seems like there is no difference to stock with low to mid volume running.

I left it running at the grocery market today and got out to see what it was like from the outside and I didn't hear any thing at all exept for faint words (like with stock blasting). I had expected for it to be something similar to every one else that has a system going.

Is it just me , or is some thing wrong here?

Not too familiar with that H/U but have you experimented with the subwoofer settings on it? What's the gain on the amp like?
Amp gain?? I don't know what that means lol.. sorry

Sub Menu has things like Reverse Phase, 50 Hertz... Wouldnt know what to reset.

Did you install the amp yourself? And why do you care whether it's loud outside of the vehicle?
He said he had everything professionally installed... What shop was it?

And i dont think he cares about sounding on the outside, i think it was more of a comparison to his stock speakers.

Ported or sealed box? Not to mention they are shallow mount woofers. The probably dont have a whole lot of XMax.
Very true. But I've experimented with 2 shallow 12"s in my hatchback, and it got violent for what it was.

Amp gain is a knob on the amp that controls how much power it sends to the speakers based on colume on the H/U. The more gain you have, the louder your subs will get at a lower volume. However, if you turn it up too much, it becomes easy to send "clipped signal" to the speakers, which can result in damaging/killing them.

I'm sure there is some1 with some experience that would be able to help you though

Awh yeah the knob, they installed it cleanly in a lil dash compartment, its on half.

Every time I see some one with any kind of system either doing a ride by, or tailgating, or somewhere in the area at a traffic stop, you hear it bumpin.

There is also a knob on the amp itself. It does the same thing as the one on your dash, except more drastic.
