Thankyou.....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

has anyone heard or owned these subs.??, are ''Directed'' any good... im sure they make ''Orion''

cheers bob!! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

the subs were a spur of the moment thing, theyre not for my car....

i have a set of PA speakers at home with 15'' drivers, one of these cones is busted so im gonna dump them in there... as theyre D4's i'll be able to show my rack amp an 8ohm load.

the original cones were only rated for 300wrms, these should hold more power... the only worry is how light they are 106oz magnets, lol my 10'' Lanzar MAX weighs more than one of these 15's //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

Hah! So you're saying the directed subs are light?

They shouldn't sound bad, but not good either. I could see them holding together with 300watts.

yep... they're light thats for sure, if they were NEO mags it wouldn't really be relevant, but its standard ferrite so....

see these are rated for 600wrms, im guessing that rating is the same for 8ohm & 2ohm configs..????

Keep in mind, most times PA speakers are required to playing a higher freq range than many subwoofers are designed to. This may or may not be a problem, depending on the PA speaker setup, and those particular subs (Im not familiar with them).

Power ratings are thermal capacities based on the speaker's ability to dissipate the heat generated by the current flowing through them. This cooling aspect does not change based on impedance load.
