New amp, new speakers no sound

Hey guys....I just installed a new Rockford P200-2 amp with a pair of new Polk Audio DB651 speakers. My problem is no sound. The amp has power. If I turn the fader all to the rear (the new set up) I can hear music playing on the new speakers at a low voume. If I crank the volume they get little louder but the left one vibrates awful as the bass hits. ANy suggestions.

As far as I can tell its wired correctly. (I used the previous wires that the previous owner of the car used, dont know what the gauge is but the power and ground is huge! The install was clean and looked very professional) The thing that struck me odd was there was two wires going to the REM terminal so I used the same wireing and plugged both in on the Rockford. When I first purchased the car about a year ago the old speakers and amp worked fine although the speakers were soon blown. The amp had much power for the peakers so they didnt last. The old set up was JL 6.5 speakers with a memphis M class 16-MC500D. I turned the fader to the front (4 speakes) and lived with that for about 9 months after the rear speakes blew.

Unfortunatly I can only use 6.5 speakers for the rear sub due to very limited space (Lotus Esprit). I wanted to replace with JL's again but couldnt find them so went with the polk speakers (unless someone knows a goog 6.5 speaker to delivers good bass).

Thanks guys.

Checked the speakers....everything is connected. There is a constant static sound thats not blasting but pretty loud....even with the volume at zero it remains. When you turn it up louder the static gets a little louder...remains louder than music.

As far as the two REM wires.....one just goes to the other amp for the front speakers so I imagine this should not be an issue.

Wondering if it could be the CD player? It's fairly new as it was installed shortly before I bought the car. Its a Sony CDA 9815. Also I messed with the functions on the player....dont know is some type of function could be casing this.

Also remounted the left speaker. It was loose....the vibration is gone with the base now.

Ok....update. I installed the Rockford amp on the front....temporarily removed the front amp. It worked perfect so it cant be the rockford amp. I think its one of two things.....bad RCA cable going to the rear amp or the rear channel on the cd player took a dump. Im thinking maybe the rear speakers were not blown after all. Maybe the rear channel was dying and thats why the speakers sounded like crud. Im gonna install the old memphis amp and the old JL speakers on saterday to see if they are behaving like the rockford polk combo I just installed.

If an RCA was bad do you think any sound would go through. As mentioned there is very low volume music with much louader static (almost like the white noise from a TV).

That would make it the player....any thoughts.

you sure you don't have the rear crossover set to LPF? turn off any crossover on the amp or HU - set it to bypass, all pass (AP), or none to verify proper operation.

Sony didn't make a CDA-9815, but Alpine did and it's an AWESOME deck. the 9815 has crossover features galore. you need to verify which of the RCA preouts you are using to feed the amp. then go through the amp setup to verify the crossover settings.

if you intend on them being for low bass only, put them on the SUB W output on the head unit, adjust the sub level control, crossover, eq, etc.

what is the amp gain set at? how did you determine the gain level?

bad RCA's can cause these problems as well.
