Dual alternators or one single alternator beefed up?

I have heard both pros and cons. Some people say I should get one huge beefed up alternator at about 250amps. Others say it is better to get two alternators like 125 amps a piece. what do you think and why?

Well, I heard that the highoutput are prone to break quicker than the smaller ones...

i really havent heard of bigger alternators going bad quicker just make sure that you buy a good brand and it will hold up and last you a couple years
