New Amp install no sound and draining battery

Hey all,

Just installed an AQ1200d amp and hooked it up to my Audiopulse EPD210 EPIC 10" DVC Subwoofer 2 Ohm wired in parallel to get a 1 ohm load. Turn on my car--no sound, try to start the engine and it won't turn over. I've checked all my connections and can confirm that I'm getting power to the amp and have battery tested the sub to no avail. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Greg

if your car won't start, you don't have enough juice to run the amp. double check your wiring. look for blown fuses on the car. make sure you have the battery connections tight. (I had this happen to me, acted like a dead battery, but just a bad connection.)

if this doesn't help, pull the fuse in the amps power wire, then see if the car will start.

good luck,

Duane

A lot of variables. I would pull the fuse for the amp's power cable near the battery, disconnect the remote power wire and tape it off so as not to short.....maybe even disconnect the RCA's and tape them too.

Then I would try to figure out why my car wouldn't start. The car not starting could indicate a problem with the car's battery. It might read 12volts, but be unable to handle any sort of load.

There are a lot of suspects, but I would focus on the car starting and charging properly first.

This is what I was trying to say, getting it from my head to the forum didn't work so well.

Update: Since I realized that i had the sub wired incorrectly and have since fixed this and the car will turn over. the sound issues still persists. I hooked up an mp3 player to the amp and still no sound. is there an issue with how i have the amp wired or maybe some configuration i haven't tried? so glad that i fixed the battery issue. now to get some bump!
