if you pulled the negative battery cable off your battery when the car is running.....

if the car stays running = your alternator is not being a piece of crap at that moment.

if you pull the negative cable off your battery - and your car imedietly dies....

your alternator is not making enough electricity to support your car -

and your car is constantly feeding energy off the battery....

you have a new alt anyways - so it dont matter - you need to install it now plz.

try and find that tool I posted a picture of.

its been worth its weight in gold for me. verry handy - must have tool.

verry good at diagnosing problems involving anything electrical.

No.However when you re-connect it there may be some sparking.
