with SBN coming soon and on a lil budget i need help choosing which one is going to help me with the best. right now im running stock alt 130a, stock battery under hood and kinetik hc2400, hc600 in the back. when running full tilt i have pretty big drops in voltage. i need to choose one or the other because i can only afford one or the other, help me choose.

First off, remove the HC600. It is likely dead after being paired with the HC2400. Then upgrade the alt.

Bigger alternator. Your running at .75 and with 4K+ RMS I'm guessing. Your pulling a shit load of current and your alternator is pissed. Get at least 250a alternator IMO. I always say the less batteries you have the better.

You are the guy asking why to run anther power wire right? OP should PAY you for this advice... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Because the HC2400 has a rating of 128aH and the HC600 has a rating of 20aH. You are running them in parallel, which tries to draw the same amount of current out of each battery. Since it is likely more current than the HC600 can supply, you are over working it. There is no way an HC600 can supply half of the current you are pulling. If so, two HC600 would be all you need. Most likely that HC600 has been deep cycled to death and more than likely is your source of voltage issues. I would still recommend the HO alt too.

so i would be better off removing the hc600 and running just a hc2400 for now and upgrade the alt and do another 2400 down the road?
Yes. The HC2400 is rated for 2400wrms. It by itself is a little smaller than you need to run 4kwms. The issue you will have adding a second one later is that you will have an old used one and a new one. You should not mix old and new batteries. At that point, you should buy two new matching batteries.

So I say for now, ditch the HC600, make sure the HC2400 is still good, upgrade the alt, then think about replacing the HC2400 with two fresh ones down the road. You will be sure to find a group buy or something. When you find a good deal, jump on it.
