so, the pics you have on the 1st page, is it a 16 volt version?, and the one with the extra row of caps the 12 volt?..(i do see the little 12 volts sticker on it) just want to make sure...

Out of all the amps i've seen 4 out of 5 are dead...and only 2 of them have a common board/parts...so I guess they do the R&D on their customers?

Poor chap tried to play music with one...it wasn't pretty //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. The only one's i've seen survive to tell the tale is ryan@border..but i'm sure those are highly modified.

I would really love to try one of these amps but I keep hearing so many mixed reviews. Some people run them daily with no problems and then I keep hearing of a bunch blowing when run daily.

DtBrown, what difference do the mods make on yours?

Only 7kd or 2k6d that i've seen people have problems with where from bad installation or running them to low impedance for music or people try modifying them. Between my friends and myself we have 6 7kd's and 1 2k6d for almost a year and not one issue via music or for burps. And there where two single board prototype's 7k2d's out a while ago and alan tested them for stetsom and i think alan blew them. Ryan may have also tested them also but no one anywhere had one except Alan.
