If strength was all that mattered, cones would be made out of 1/2" plate steel.

Lol, I never said it was all that mattered, I just said that design is strong. Yes those cones are heavy too, but if you have enough motor force that isn't as big of a deal.

Again, where did I say that? All cone materials have their strengths and weaknesses, you know that, it's all a game of compromises, and yes, for subs paper offers the best compromise for the most part, but that doesn't make other materials bad choices either.
