I went to walmart the other day and pickedup so 12 volt dc neon lights that glow blue. i mounted them abovemy amps on the roof of my trunk where you cant see them and hid the wires well with the exception of the ground wire being up top and my remote where i put the power switch on bottom so its a little ****ed. but it looks good now i have 2 amps side by side that are black/chrome with blue LED lighting already. however they arent that bright unless its dark out. i could go to autozone and get the more expensive ones for more money that will glow alot brighter but i dont want to put much money in this car since i will be selling it relativly soon. anyways i jsut watned to share this since im at school and have nothng better 2 do.

I would've went with LEDs, take less power and are fives times as bright.

DO NOT run them directly off the remote wire on the headunit.

that wire is not intended to supply that kind of current.

if i remember right my p860mp said no more than 300ma.

if i was you i would get a relay and use that to run them and both of your amps.

although you might never have any problem with how you have them wired.

or it could last a week then burn out something inside the headunit.

a relay costs about $5 and is cheap insurance IMO.

LEDs ftw.

But stuck with neons....don't worry about them being dim during the day. Lights are only cool at night, everybody knows that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif

LEDs = Light Emitting Diodes ... Neons = electrically excited gas. Big difference.

As said above, if you are running them off the remote wire, stop now. Get a relay and tap off the 12v+ to your amp.

its not conneted to the HU. unless im not understanding what our saying. i wired it in with the remote that plugs into my amp.
