Ok...

REALLY considering these 2 mids...

Peerless Exclusive 7" OR 8" (leaning towards 7")

Now... whats a good tweet to run with these babies? Looking at...

Peerless 1" 810921

But can't find the dimensions on it anywhere... looks a lil big.

Now, i WAS considering the Rainbow SLCs.... but

- By the time i'm going to purchase them, i'd be ready to go Active.

So my question is..... for those who have experience both the Exclusives and the SLCs, how do the MIDs stack up against each other?

Also for the Exclusive 8"s, they recommend box alignments of:

Sealed box of 28 liters (1cf); F3 of 60Hz

Vented box of 44 liters (1.6cf); 2" port by 3.7" long; F3 of

Now, is one to follow those guidelines to get optimum output? They can still be free aired I assume?

A driver ment for enclosure use will need an enclosure to perform. If you run it IB in most cases there will be little to no output and you risk damaging the driver. While active is the best way to get the max sound out of a setup, using DIY drivers can be tricky. People think you can just slap anything in the door and it will sound great. Really what it comes down to is you can build a sweet active setup for very little money but in order to take advantage of it you have to put more into the install ( sealed kicks/ door panels, placement, tuning ect). If you dont know how to do glass work to make the proper enclosure for these drivers you will be left at the mercy of a local installer which will charge you ALOT of cash for this kind of work. If you can do this yourself then go for it.
