need to squeze 1-2 more db's outta this setup

try adjusting the amp with a dmm. Maybe, just maybe, he set the gains lower than he should have (the opposite is true most of the time).

Your question begs another question though... why? Do you honestly think you'd be happier with 1 more measely db? is it some sort of psychological thing for you?
