i just installed my new hu this morning... and since im new at this i need to know if i need to adjust my gains. the previous hu had a single 1volt preamp output and the new one has 2 4volt preamp outputs... i have two amps one for speakers and one for sub.

so... do i need to adjust the gains?

yep.....just set them to zero.....then turn your h/u up to where you'd normally listen to it at....then turn the gains up till u hear distortion....then back them down a bit....then your set to go....unless u got an osclescope (think thats the right one) then u could set them exactly.....peace
