Need Some Help

alright guys i have some noob questions... im really new to the whole audio scene but i do want to start competing... i went and bough some re sx12's and i want to get a box built... i have a shop down from me that said they will build it for 400 plus dynamat my hatch and trunk floor... well i am not sure what specs i should put the box 2... re site says 1.9cu^ft ported tuned to 35hz for one... so for 2 should i get a 5 cu^ft ported tuned to 35hz or 4 cu^ft ported tuned to 35 hz... i dont even know what hz is.. can anyone of you audio guru's shed some light on the subject for me...
