i was needing to get some help and ideas on how to build a good sounding ported enclosure for my two 12" type X subs, there in my 1995 acura integra, jus wondering if anyone knew of a good box design for these subs, any input is appreciated

so you think that with that big of a box these subs will perform well,

In the owners book to the subs, ALpine has the optimum ported box is gross internal 1.8 cubic feet and says net internal 1.3 cubic feet and a 24" long 12" by 1" vent, tuned 28Hz, 4.5db, 32hz whatever that means, lol im a lil new to building a custom box, jus wanting the get the most outta my subs

yeah, their specs are a bit undersized. you can go double that on the type X and it'll sound much better. Altho i personally love the type x in a sealed box myself....about 2.5-3.0 cubes

do ya think they would have a louder ouput and a lil more spl from a sealed vs a ported box, like i said im new to box building jus trying to get the loudest i can get outta these babys

id like to get maximum spl's outta these subs i know there more of a sq sub but any help would b greatly appreciated

dude that sub beats, you will be getting max spl with them either way you go. bones's design should be fine. that design isnt to big at all. what rig you puttin em in juss curious, if you could even fit it in yo ****

ima go with a box thas 30"wide, 16" tall, and 24" deep jus need to figure out a way to put a port out the rear of the box with the subs mounted on top not sure how to do this, ima try to get it tuned to about 34hz
