Need some help please

I just bought 2 L7 15s off craigslist and there the 08 black ones dual 2 ohm subs for 375, well they look great, in great shape, well i got home and hooked them up and tryed free air first, and i first hooked them up to a 2 ohm load and couldnt hear anything, then ran them down to .5 ohms and could barely hear a thing, then i put them in the box and i can play them just for a second at low volume then when i turn up the volume or bass boost then pop alittle bit and cut in and out what is the problem with them? thanks

Is your amp .5 stable? Do you have the gain and/or bass boost maxed out?

no its a zx2500.1 2 ohm stable, i had it down to 2 ohms
