The new (1995 and up) Taurus' don't hold a candle to the old ones. If milage is no different, go for it.

10g, the motor will be swapped when i get a new job for the tt version so im not that worried about mileage. I will have a powerbass xa3000d, powerbass xa485, cd1e mini horns, image dynamics idq52's, 2 12" type-r's, and a pioneer p860mp

Well it's not that easy. Taurus' aren't exactly a car to sneeze at. Insurance for them is lower, they usually get great milage, have good engines (The 3.0 at least), and noone expects one to have a nice stereo in it.
