Feel The Bass In ur EYEs
For about 6 months now, my dad has had a new boss whos been being a dick to him. My dads a courier and the Branch Transportation Safety Supervisor for a huge company. About 3 months ago he got his yearly review and it was the worst he had ever had with the company. He has worked there for a bout 10 years and 6 or so bosses and never received less than a $0.75 pay raise, but this new boss gave him a very poor review and a $0.01 raise. The boss also changes his route daily(never has time to plan it out), gives him rushes and took over his TSS position. My dad used to make the routes but the boss from NY who knows nothing about miami tries and has messed everything up. Well last week the boss decides to give him his TSS job back and says run the routes we give you and do the TSS part at home "on the toilet if you have to". That on top of a 40 hr week Well my dad has been stressing out about it all and has been in the hospital twice for chest pains. Well today he had to go to the emergency room wile on his route, and they indirectly threatened him with his job.

He wants to sue now and or quit but we don't have the money to do either.

Anybody have any ideas on what we can do? I really don't want my dad to have a heart attack on the job but I don't know what to do.

I only hear bits and pieces from my mom. For some reason they don't wanna talk about it.

They also gave him a 2 in stack of routes to be organized by friday.

Hes never had a prob with his job ever untill this new boss cam along

****... Well, look for another job, immediately. Prepare to apply for unemployment. Help your dad spend at least a half an hour a day relaxing... Meditation works well to reduce stress.

What is his take in the company? does he have a pension with them?

A high stress job can initiate haeart disease and high blood pressure = heart attacks.

Not sure about a pension or anything but, hes got HBP, Type 2 diabetes, a stent in his leg, and takes like 11 pills a day. All were diagnosis about a month ago.

He pretty much drinks bush to get away...

Dude I am really sorry to hear about your dad. Right now he should do what is best for himself and find a better job, it will **** for a while because money will be tight while on unemployment but your health is priceless!

I work a crummy entry level job making about $20/hr, I have been doing it for six years and its a great job because I don't have to do much work at all, very low stress and my boss is only here maybe 10 days out of the year.

I could go get a job for $25-30 now probably but I know how stressed out jobs can be and its just not worth it to me..

Good luck and tell your pops to stay strong and push them to do the right thing even if it means you will have some tough times.. If you have the time maybe you can help by getting a small job and help contribute to the family funds for a while.

This type of stuff is the reason most people hate their bosses. They ask you to do things that you either cannot or don't know how to do, then penalize you if you don't do it or mess it up. But, in this case, your dad did take the responsibility, and has ended up in the hospital for his trouble. He should look for a different career, and possibly seek out unemployment benefits. He might be able to file suit against them, but I don't know what the charges could be. The fact that he is having symptoms of a heart attack will be looked upon by the company as "age and lifestyle based", and not "their" problem. Sorry to hear about this man. Good luck with everything!

Well, you have certainly come to the right place. We have helped many, many people in similar situations.

Seriously, if you want some legal advice locate an attorney that specializes in employment law on behalf of employees. I would be surprised if they want to charge for a consultation.

Good luck.

Good advice. It is imperative that the stress stops. At this point, the damage is not reversible, but you can extend his life greatly by stopping the stress. But, beware, some guys stress more about not having any money than having a stressful job.
