need some help about power

i had my 2 15" hooked up and working for a week and the power i'm running from my battery is a 5 gauge wire to a small capacitor then to my amp. today the capacitor started beeping and reading 00.00 on the display i've check my wire from the battery and my alt. is working properly so is the fuse i have on the 5 gauge wire for my ground which is also fine. i'm going to remove the cap tommorow but can anyone explain why the cap is beeping? i guess its not getting any power or it can't put out any power...also when i turn on the car after sitting for a long time the subs came on and played only until i put the car in reverse and the beeping started again so did the flashing 00.00.once it starts no matter how long i drive it stays beeping and flashing... any advice?? thx
