NEED OPINIONS (Skar and Sundown)

Alright guys... just need to put this out there. I'm torn... and can't come to a conclusion.

I currently have a SAZ-3500... I have proper electrical. Just got everything figured out with it. I can run something a little larger on my electrical, and my subs can take a little more than I'm currently throwing at them.

A buddy of mine is a Skar Audio authorized dealer, so he has the hookups and deals on their amplifiers and equipment for me... he's allowing me to trade my 3,500 in, and for a couple hundred bucks I can take the SK-4500 off of his hands.

My questions are.. how is the SK-4500? I've seen videos of it doing more than rated on the dyno.. legit claims? Is it long lasting? Durable and reliable?

Is it going to be a worthwhile kick up from my 3,500? Or should I just stick with what I have and try later for a SAZ-5000 when I want to pay a bunch more?

I know Skar gets knocked. I personally don't like the brand because of the owner and his history, but.. I can get over it if the amp is good.

Any opinions are appreciated! Thank you!

until somebody shows me differences in board components, they are the same korean built amps regardless of whether the box says Sundown or Skar.

Run that 4500 at half ohm daily and u will get 5k plus. Problem is selling the saz will be alot easier then the skar. The 4500 have sold for 650 and the saz 3500 has sold for 600. So that should give u an idea. I would jump up to the ns1 for next amp when ready.

I have dual 1's, so I can't get down to a half ohm. I'm stuck at 1 ohm. I've never ran woofers at .5 ohm, so I always to with the dual 1's. I totally understand your statement about the resell value of the amps... not to sound self indulged or full of myself, but I don't mind losing a little $ in the end if I choose to sell it. As long as I got what I wanted out of it at the time.

I don't know if I could ever bump up to the NS-1 in my vehicle. I feel like I'm maxed out in terms of power if it's anything above a 5K. My electrical can't support an NS-1, and I simply don't have any more room or carrying capacity for more batteries and what not. Plus my car is dismantling.. Haha. This might be a final upgrade as far as sub power goes and this car goes.

I guess all amps from Korea are the same by your logic.

If you are looking for more power, you won't notice much gain from the SAZ3500 to skar 4500. Go for an Ampere 7.5k.

If you want efficiency go Brazilian.

That SAZ5000 gives me wood tho.

skar amp is fine and does rated, but you won't notice much of a diff going from the SD to the skar. Really need a bigger power increase IMO.

2nd 3500 and strap them at .5 each....

That is the great thing about Maestro products, they are very thorough. Downside is the price tag.
